This post highlights a ten years of dedicated efforts and programs to deliver the most holistic educational environment possible — and here’s a glimpse of what we’ve accomplished.
To grasp what I mean by “Education for Life” and how this philosophy was born, do read my earlier post. In essence, the goal is simple yet profound: to offer every child a truly holistic education — one that nurtures academic, technological, cultural, social, physical, and emotional growth.
Today, the Basavaraddi legacy proudly runs three K–12 institutions in Dharwad:

1. Extraordinary Teachers
Our core foundation is our educators — highly experienced, rigorously trained, and passionately devoted. Every teacher at Basavaraddi has been with us for a minimum of 2 years, with most having over a decade of experience. Their passion is what defines our students. Meet our teachers ?
2. Academic Excellence
We believe academics must ignite interest, not just check boxes. For Grades 1–5, we extend beyond the basics of state textbooks and use Crystal Books by Pearson. The results has been powerful — many of our students successfully pass the Navodaya entrance exam without coaching. Learning is further enriched through our specialized labs and experiential learning. For Grades 6–10, we follow NCERT Books for Science and Math, ensuring deep understanding and national-level standards.
3. Sports at the Core

4. Extracurricular Excellence
Every year, dozens of our students from Basavaraddi Schools make it to Cluster, Taluk, and State-level competitions in Prathibha Karanji — an inter-school co-curricular contest.
At the school level, students compete in top 10 schools in dharwad weekly CCA competitions, starting with house-level rounds and advancing to the school-level finals. This organized system encourages healthy competition, teamwork, and consistent skill development.
5. Extracurricular Hobby Programs
Basavaraddi Schools offer six hobby classes: Karate, Classical Dance, Classical Music, Physical Fitness, Coding, and Abacus. Students can pick according to their interests and develop a lifelong skill. All classes are led by external faculty who are experienced experts in their fields.
6. Competitive Exam Preparation
The foundation for excelling in future tests is strong aptitude. At Basavaraddi, students are rigorously trained to develop reasoning and quick-thinking skills, enabling them to succeed in Olympiads and other competitive exams. Reasoning is taught as a separate subject with its own Olympiad-approved books and assessments.
7. Gifted Learners Program
Advanced topics in finance and entrepreneurship can be challenging for most students. To address this, a select group is chosen for the Genius Batch, where they study advanced concepts in finance and business management.
8. Cultural Alignment
Every class begins with a short Brahmari exercise to help students achieve a receptive state. Students are taught slokas and vachanas every morning, and all major festivals are celebrated with teachers and peers. This ensures every child remains connected to culture and tradition.
9. Life Skills
Life skills often predict future success more than academics. Through the “Ready for Life” program, students develop entrepreneurship, leadership, communication, empathy, critical thinking, and problem-solving in a structured way, equipping them for life beyond school.
10. Digital Literacy and AI Learning
Through the “AI for You” program and coding lessons starting as early as Class 3, students at Basavaraddi Schools are equipped with end-to-end technological education, including hands-on computer labs. This ensures they stay ahead of the curve in an increasingly tech-driven world.
11. Foundational Learning Support
Not all students grasp at the same pace, and some need personalized assistance. Remedial classes provide dedicated periods for individualized attention, ensuring every child reaches basic proficiency — fluency in English and Hindi, and mastery of the four fundamental operations in mathematics.
12. Principles of Education for Life
The principles of “Education for Life” at Basavaraddi Schools have been outlined in my previous post. In short, our goal is to create an environment where every student looks forward to learning and values every moment of their journey. Preserving and strengthening a child’s confidence is our core aim.
Our Ever-Evolving Goal
Our endeavor is to continually copyright the feat of being the best school in Dharwad. While we are grateful of the progress and results so far, we believe the mission to “Educate for Life” is always growing.
